Please allow 48 hours, excluding Weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request for REPEAT medications to be processed.
If your request includes items not recorded as repeats in your clinical records processing will take up to five working days.
If a Hospital consultant adjusts your medication and requests a GP to take over responsibility for that change the Practice will need to await the receipt of the discharge letter from the hospital. The hospital should have issued you with sufficient medication to cover this timelag period. At times the GP cannot 'take over' the prescribing and in these instances you will need to return to the Hospital
RUN OUT OF MEDICATION, the surgery may be able to issue you with an emergency seven day supply of medication but you will need to wait until the end of the ongoing surgeries for a GP to sanction this. The remainder of your 28 day supply will then be available within 48 hours unless it includes non repeat items when the five working day timeframe will apply.
NOTE: If you pay for your prescriptions - extra prescription charges will apply.
Collection. (Time limited)
Once your prescription has been processed it will be held for 2 weeks awaiting collection. If your prescription has not been collected by then it will be discarded.
